Sound of Erin
Saturday (Noon - 7:00 pm)

The Sound of Erin is an Irish program that features interviews, music, book reviews, sports and other items of interest for the Irish community. The seven-hour Saturday afternoon show is divided into four segments. From noon to 1:30 is the Comholtas Cedori Eireann with long-time co-hosts Larry and Sean Reynolds. The music-based format is primarily traditional polkas and old-style Irish songs. After the Reynolds father-son part of the show, the "Sound of Erin" segment begins at 1:30 and continues to 4:30. Hosted by John Curran and Bernie McCarthy, the format features contemporary music and ballads. From 4:30 to 5:30, the program turns to a Celtic-language broadcast hosted by Mairin Ui Chelde. This portion of the program includes music and talk. From 5:30 on, the program takes on the theme of "Country Time Ireland" and focuses on Country and Western recordings by Irish artists.
